In 2007, Michael Bell was presented with our award for Bakery Supplier of the Year at the Baking Industry Awards by the gorgeous Joanna Lumley (we didn’t hear the end of that for some time!!).
Our Village Bakery Café in Melmerby was host to an episode of The Hairy Bikers - when Dave Myers and Simon King came for a bread master class held by our top baker Antony Tiffin (aka Tiff). Great guys with a huge passion for baking!
We have been honored by meeting royalty twice!
Prince Charles is an ardent supporter of the Organic movement and long time fan of The Village Bakery - our organic brand. He opened our refurbished Village Bakery restaurant and marked the commissioning of our wood fired oven in Lazonby.
However, the real stand out was in 2006 when we were awarded the Queens Award for Enterprise for our Innovation in the Free From area. Three members of our team were invited down to Buckingham Palace to receive the award - A day to remember!
